Masala Chickpeas(no onion no garlic)

Masala Chickpeas is chickpeas cooked in masala. but today so am sharing Masala Chickpeas without onion and garlic, this is very good as
Side dish or for snack time.

Ingredients:

  • White chickpeas 1 cup soaked whole night
  • Tomato chopped 1
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Dry mango powder 1 tsp(amchoor)
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder 1/3 tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp
  • Chopped tomato 1 tsp for garnishing (optional)
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water 1/3 cup
  • Tomato Ketchup 2tbps

Method:

  • In a pressure cooker boil chickpea with 3 cups of water and salt.
  • When chickpeas get boiled stained in a bowl. Keep water and chickpeas aside.
  • In a heavy bottom pan, heat oil and add cumin to cracker, when cumin crackers add coriander powder, red chili powder and mix well. Now add tomatoes and mix well.
  • Let it cook for 5 mins till mixture leave the corners of the pan, now add boiled chickpeas and water (water drained from boiled peas). Cover it and let it cook for some time till all the water incorporated in chickpeas. Add 2 tbsp of tomato ketchup to enhance its taste.
  • Now add roasted cumin powder, Garam masala and mango powder and mix well. Serve it in serving now and top with some lemon juice.
