Kuttu ke pancakes -instant 5 minutes

Kuttu is known as buckwheat and is very popular in India. During Navratri, many people in India does fasting and make food from kuttu flour, like kuuttu ki puri, kuttu ke pakode, kutti ke pancakes, crapes etc. Kuttu/Buckwheat is plant based food and mainly used in form of flour, kuttu ka aata.

Today, i am doing fast. I was thinking to cook something easily in less time for my food. So, I make instant pancakes (first time) from kuttu flour and potatoes only. I have eaten kuttu ke pakode , puri many time but first time tried these pancakes. These are very good in taste and save lots of time.

Ingredients:

  • Kuttu ka aata/ Buckwheat flourĀ  3 tbsp
  • Medium size potato 1
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili powder 1/4 tsp (Optional)
  • Coriander Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Water 1/4 cup
  • Oil / Ghee 2 tbsp

Method:

  • Peel and wash potato. In a bowl grate potato and mix Kuttu ka aata/Buckwheat flour.
  • Add salt, coriander powder, chili powder, water and mix well. Keep it aside.
  • On a non stick pan heat 1/2 tsp oil/ghee and make small pancakes (size doesn’t matter). I like it very small like canapes so it get very crispy.
  • Cover the pan for 1 minutes and let pancakes cook. after 1 minute flip and add 1/2 tsp oil more and let pancakes get crispy on both sides.
  • Serve with yogurt or chutney of you choice.
