Tori ki sabji / Zukini curry
Tori is know as many names Turai /Zukini/Tori/ Ridge gourd. It’s very light to digest and have lots of water content so cook very quickly. Today I am sharing very simple recipe of Tori/Turai sabji, that anyone can have in any time with rice or roti. Tori is very good for people with digestion problem. Tori is very mild to digestion system. Old-wives used to say tori is very good for milk production after delivery baby and helps in recovery. I remembered, I used to have it in one of my daily meal after my kids born and I love it.
Tori can be taken in many ways spicy tori curry, masala tori, tori chips , tori rayta. But, I am sharing very simple recipe today. Without onion, garlic or tomatoes.
Ingredients:
- Zukini/Tori 2 medium size
- Cumin seed 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1/3 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 tsp
- Chili powder 1/4 tsp(optional)
- Salt to taste
- Water 1/4 cup
Method:
- Peel and wash zukini /tori. Cut it in small cubes.
- In a pressure cooker heat oil/ghee and add cumin seeds to for tempering.
add coriander powder, turmeric powder , chili powder and let it sauté for few seconds. - Now add zukini/tori cubes with salt and mix well . Close the cooker lid. Add water and let it steam on medium flame for 5 minutes.
- Switch off the flame after 5 minutes and add Garam masala powder, mix well.
- Serve immediately.
